Google Wallet launches in Pakistan: Setup guide and supported banks

Google has officially introduced its mobile payment service, Google Wallet, in Pakistan, marking a significant milestone in the country’s digital finance landscape. This launch brings a secure, convenient, and efficient way for users to make online, in-app, and contactless payments directly from their mobile devices.

How to Set Up Google Wallet in Pakistan

Setting up Google Wallet is straightforward. Users can download the Google Wallet app from the Google Play Store. If a compatible credit or debit card is already linked to their Google account, it will automatically appear in the app. Users can follow the on-screen instructions to enable contactless payments.

For those who need to add a new card, they can simply tap “Add a card,” review and accept their bank’s terms, complete the verification process, and begin using Google Wallet for seamless transactions.

Supported Banks and Payment Cards

Currently, Google Wallet in Pakistan supports Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards from several major banks, including:

  • Bank AlFalah (Visa & Mastercard debit and credit cards)
  • Bank of Punjab (Mastercard credit cards)
  • Faysal Bank Noor (Mastercard debit cards)
  • HBL (Visa & Mastercard debit and credit cards)
  • Jazzcash (Mastercard debit cards)
  • Meezan Bank (Visa & Mastercard debit cards)

Additionally, Google plans to expand support to more banks soon, including:

  • Allied Bank (Visa debit cards)
  • Easypaisa Digital Bank (Visa debit cards)
  • JS Bank (Visa credit cards & Mastercard debit cards)
  • Zindigi (Visa debit & credit cards, Mastercard debit cards)

Beyond Payments: Additional Features & Merchant Integration

Google Wallet is more than just a payment platform. It also supports digital items like loyalty cards, boarding passes, and travel documents, offering an all-in-one digital wallet solution.

Soon, users will be able to shop online using Google Pay at top Pakistani retailers, including Onic, Gul Ahmed, Sana Safinaz, J., and KE, through PayFast integration. Travelers can also add boarding passes from airlines such as Batik Air and Thai Airways for a smoother airport experience with real-time flight updates.
